Back to The Defiant Few ←PARKINSON’S AFTER DARK · FRIDAY · DF052
My Body and I Have Been Assigned a Group Project. It Is Not Contributing.
Parkinson’s can turn the body into an unreliable teammate, but blaming it too long eventually teaches me to despise part of myself.
Every group project has one person who does nothing, misses the deadline and still gets the same grade. Mine has knees.
My body and I were paired without consultation. There was no opportunity to choose a more reliable partner, switch groups or tell the teacher I had completed my portion. We share one name, one deadline and a grading system that refuses to distinguish between the person trying to move and the equipment occasionally responding with an out-of-office message.
